Enormous skwat volume! Great work!
Have you ever competed in a Powerlifting meet before? What are your current best for the three lifts and what are your goals for the meet? Will you be lifting raw?
I have never competed in PL before. Current bests are 275 squat, 235 bench and not sure about DL. I will be testing at the end of the RSA, so that should be a more accurate gauge of what I can do. I will be competing in the USAPL raw division, which means belts and non-supportive wraps are legal, but supportive suits, wraps and shirts are not. I don't own a belt or wraps, and at this time I have no plans to use them. I could see myself eventually wearing a belt when I squat though.
Its very cool that you are going to compete in a raw powerlifting USAPL sponsored meet for the first time. I assume you will enter < 75kg class.
Your squat and bench both establish very impressive base numbers to build on.
Nothing like putting it on the line in a competition to focus ones training. I know you will perform well.
Good stuff Martin.
Have you managed to get any info about how to plan the day of the meet? Warm ups, keeping tip-top between lifts etc?
I haven't really thought too much about it. I have a heavy single scheduled in all 3 lifts on Mar. 7, and I will experiment with my warm-up on that day as well as take at least 10 mins between attempts to somewhat simulate meet conditions.
