Great work! 32kg one arm swings are very tough (.. and then there are freaks like Aaron who do one bulldog one arm swings!)
I believe Brett Jones has posted that there is decent carry over to upper body strength for pull ups and presses.
Adam Glass further claims it build enormous power and endurance in the lower arms. He includes honing of the full body tension technique with carry over to heavy deads and presses.
Although I have enormous respect for Adam, having heard all this I still have no desire to do it either as it doesn't have any appeal whatsoever to me. Bending nails and ripping apart phonebooks reminds too much of evil carnies.
Thanks Franklin for your kind words and for the comments on bending. I bend for all of those reasons, and also for the intangible benefit that it's fun. Having bending in my schedule makes it easier for me to stck to some of the other aspects of my training that are beneficial but boring. It also gives me a way to structure some of my other forearm work that I do. For example, one of my goals is a 500lbs deadlift, and many of the other drills I do are intended to complement or supplement my DL training. In the same way, I have a goal of bending the red nail, so much of the lower arm work I do is to shore up my weak points in bending. I find this more effective than just doing some lower arm work because Pavel says that strong hands and strong abs make a strong man. Does that make sense?

I was wondering what was wrong with your right hand, and then I saw that you were bending things.
Why are you doing that? I'm just curious; I never tried or wanted to.

It makes great sense. You have a great plan, you enjoy it so just be methodical and stick with it.
Different strokes for different folks.
I don't think it makes you a carnie just cos you tear number plates. ;)
I guess Martin hasn't expressed on this blog his true desire to BE an evil carnie.... It really is his lifelong dream. ;)
p.s. The word verification I have to type for this comment to go through is "gender". Haha! A real word!
